Goalkeepers training – experiences from those who are specialised in this type of training
Manager: Buckwild, team “The Keeper Factory” from England:
Strategy
Well if you've decided to train keepers, then unfortunatly your start is going to be a long one, as training keepers, usually with 2 trainees wont provide any sort of short term financial gains. So if you decide on training keepers, then think LONG term, if you want quick money, then train something else.
I decided to train keepers from the first time I joined the game, because in the team I was given by sokker had a semi decent keeper of a trainable age - RayRay Lapore. This keeper was the 1st NT keeper ever, and had the spot for a size chunk of time because no1 else trained keepers in England.
I train keepers soley for the NT and NT alone, (thus the team name Keeper Factory) and have had RayRay Laopre, Jaye Clench, and Busic from my regime make the NTs. If they have no potential to make the NT then they are ditched early on.
Juniors
Although I have a high skills youth coach, he has yet to yield me with any sort of trainable keeper, so I always get emails from the u20 coach, who keeps me informed with all available English keeper talent because there is like 2 trainers in England… so we cant afford to waste our prospects.
Coaches
Well its pretty simple… keeper skill, and pace skill… I supose it depends on your financial situation with how you go about it… I just about break even, so I have a main coach with high keeper/pace, and 2 assistants with skills a few levels below the main coach - which obviously means they are alot cheaper.
I alternate my training pattern depending on what the u20 & NT managers want. I have a coach with the same pace and keeper skills, so I can switch whenever prompted to. This enables me to train keepers in the 2 most vital/profitable areas.
Budget
Well with sokker things are always tight… your probably gonna need around 80-100k so get a nicely skilled 16yo.. which you could train for 2 seasons for a quick profit so, you then can repurchase a better skilled keeper for the long term.
Ads/disadvantages of keeper training
Its not very exciting… and you do have to think long term. But if your willing it can be profitiable with my high skilled keepers selling for 5mill +, which should then get redistributed around other areas of your team.
Keeper training is also very good for lazy people like me… I am still in the same division I started in, lol... I should really start paying more attention & spending some of the cash I have in the bank to move up the tables like I should be doing… but I’m happy providing our NT with the keeper supply it needs to stay competitive. I currently have 2 keepers (17yo +18yo) that should both make the NT's, and to me that is more enjoyable at the moment.
Manager: Shadow, team “Dzialki Lesne” from Poland:
My experience as the keepers trainer is not so high but there are a few things which i could share with you.
I chose this training because you don't need much money to get it started (I have some finances problems lately ;) and you won't reduce your team strange as much as when you training other formations.
My starting strategy was simple, I buy two older players (20-21y) with low GK~10-11 but with high pace (I think I still more important than goalkeeping skill :P) and train gk until players reach unearthly-divine level. I thought it should take 1,5 season so the profit will be about 10 mln eur per season (not so high but enough to replace older players). Now I think it would be rather 15 mln after two sezons. But I was wrong. or I would rather say I was to optimistic ;)
- First of all you should buy players which talent was proved, you simply haven't time to check it yourself when you train only two players, when you train other formations you could earning easy money only by buying players and checking their talent but no when you train keepers. My big mistake was I bought one player with unproved talent (now he plays only when my other keeper has injury).
- Second when you don't care about matches results than you should buy very young players (16-18) what guarantee you more profit after one season training than when you train older but better players. As you could check I choose indirect solutions.
- Third - Coaches - first big disadvantage for new managers - you should have coach with unearthly goalkeeping skill for sure and this skill cost a lot more than other skills. But when you have coach with all unearthly skills like me and many other managers than it won't be a problem at all ;)
That's all from me and remember I haven't sold any keeper yet so I'm not keepers trainers authority for sure;)
And in the end, a new manager:
Manager: Hellscream1910, team RKS RADOMIAK RADOM from Poland:
I am new player in this game, so I need money to build very good team. That's why I have started to train keepers. I bought two very talented players and I hired coach (Training effectiveness: unearthly of pace, unearthly of keeper). I have no assistants because I have not enough money. I will be training them until they will be divine keepers and they will have divine pace. After that I will sell them and I will buy more talented players. Now while training of keepers I am extending my stadium.
